Price you can get
Multiplicative — divides every price by the total. Simple, but it strips the most vig from long shots. Fine for tight 2-ways.
Additive — takes an equal slice of vig off each outcome. Can push heavy long shots negative, which flags as invalid.
Power — raises each implied probability to a common exponent. Favorite-friendly and usually the best all-round pick for spreads.
Shin — models insider money, so it takes proportionally more vig off the long shot. Strongest on lopsided lines and 3–4 way markets.
How the pick is chosen — each side's EV is its fair probability times its offered payout, minus one. The side with the highest EV wins. Against a single book that number is usually negative, and the pick is simply the side carrying the least vig; the fair number in the card is the price you need elsewhere to make it a real bet.
